At an altitude of 700 meters or more, with the tallest mountain peaks above 2,000 meters, Bedugul is an area composed by enchanting natural beauty with mist covering the area from noontime until up in the morning. It is located about 50km from Denpasar area and consists of several villages namely Candikuning, Pancasari, Pacung, Wanagiri and many others.
There are a lot of interesting places to visit in Bedugul; one of the most famous is Bali Botanical Garden. Located in Candikuning area, it is one of Indonesia’s four official botanical gardens. The garden covers an enormous 160 hectares green area filled with grassland and lush forest. This is a perfect spot for picnic and outdoor activity. Another place you can visit is called Jatiluwih Rice Terrace, a startlingly beautiful area of terraced rice paddies nestled on the feet of Mount Batukaru. There is also a temple called Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, located on a side of Beratan Lake. This place captivating beauty is well known, as it has become the second-most photographed places in the island just after Tanah Lot. Besides the scenery, while you’re in Bedugul you can buy ripe fresh strawberries and cute bunnies for an adorable pet.
